Amanda's artwork is created using a technique called appliqué (applying fabric on to another piece of fabric) and free motion machine embroidery, which is drawing with your sewing machine, using your machine needle as a pencil. Paints are then added for extra colour and shading.

'I am inspired by many things, but mostly by nature and the coast.  I take my camera everywhere I go, always looking for that special shot and seeing how I can create my own interpretation of my chosen image through thread on my Bernina.

My textile work is mixed media with attention to fine details.  I take great care in selecting the right fabric textures for the appliqué process, making sure the tonal colours all blend harmoniously.

'I'm fortunate to have found my lifelong passion, which is creating machine stitched art pieces.  I hope you enjoy them just as much as I had the pleasure of creating them!'
